There may be occasions when we are unable to complete the nightly closing. Let's look at some of the most common reasons:
Error when closing an open folio
In this case, we encounter a situation where there are Open Invoices at €0
And when trying to close the folio to generate the invoice, an error like the following occurs:
This error is a consequence of having reopened an invoice and moved all its charges to another folio, leaving the original folio without charges and with an invoice number, as shown below
In this case, the folio on the right is the result of having reopened the invoice and having moved all its charges to another folio (the one on the right). Since the folio on the left already has an assigned invoice number, we will not be able to delete the folio. Therefore, to solve the problem, we will
- Add a charge to the folio for the amount of €1 (or the amount we wish)
- Refund the previous charge
- Finally, close the folio
